Abstract

Each child is an individual with unique needs, circumstances, and personalities therefore; the philosophy of the workshop proposal suggested there must be a desire of continuous training among leaders and assistants so that each child can have a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and thrive intellectually, emotionally, and socially. The proposal also suggested three (3) key principles with both a rationale and support for each principle. In addition, the proposal provided an analysis of the instructional setting, highlighting three (3) factors that would have a significant impact on the design of the workshop. Finally, the proposal proposed at least three (3) developmental goals for the school’s departmental chairs and assistants based on the philosophy that have been developed, for their implementation.

Supervision is a model of leadership over an institution or a work setting. A supervisor is often a competent and responsible person who oversees a group of people who share the same goal. Therefore, it is important to choose a leader with a keen sense of leadership in order to ensure efficiency. In an educational institution, it is assumed that instructional leaders are both mentors and guides to subordinates including the students and educators of the institution. One definition of an instructional leader is a person who helps the teachers in an institution to perform better. This is achieved by uniting the teachers using the existing system of the school`s management. (Mills, 2010)
