Current Business Research Project Paper

In every business research has a vital role and has a set purpose for it’s intent. Without research, it can cause a lot of problems for a business, and can even cause investigations. Not only is research important for a business, but the data collection methods, and the end results of a research project are just as important to any business. An example of business research would be with industrial engineers who are having problems with scheduling and with the supply chains.

In the airline business, industrial engineers have to research ways to eliminate or at least try to reduce flight delays, flights being canceled, and brands of flights, inventory, and supply shortages. Researchers have found from using historical data, schedules, and mathematical models to form ways to add additional time in-between flights, without costing the airline additional money for additional resources. With leaving more time in between planes, helps to eliminate too much air traffic. There are some things such as bad weather that there is nothing researchers can help with since they are unable to predict the unpredictable. Researchers have also found that manufacturers and retailers share information, that it reduces costs and provides a better quality to the client. With the manufactories and the retailer able to communicate, they can conclude when to stock inventory without overstocking which enables sales to increase. Overstock is not good for the manufacturer or the retailer because they are only paying for supplies that are not selling. Research has found that with the manufacturer and the retailer share information, it reduces costs, gains on delivery time, and provides for better productivity and quality.
