Education is the Solution for the Discrimination Against Homosexuals.

Introduction

Discrimination is everywhere. There is discrimination against race, gender, religion and homosexuality. People can discover homosexual discrimination being discussed not only in movies but also in daily life. There is violence, humiliation, and sexual harassment against homosexual people. Studies show that it leads gays and lesbians to have more tendencies to hurt themselves, low self-esteem and to be easily depressed (Hancock and Greenspan, 2010).

Why people discriminate and bully the people just different than us? Why can’t we respect others and try to think in their angle? Most reasons are because of the stereotype we have got, which was built by our parents, our media, our friends and teachers, and the environment. To build a more generous and accepting environment for homo people, we should try to change people’s stereotype through a better and unbiased education system.

Hence, we should find ways to eliminate discrimination and get homosexuality to live equally in society. One way to aim this goal is to set up a non-discriminate education system, which means not only schooling at school but also conveying the respectful manner by parents and by priest. Just imagine, if we had been told that homosexual is not abnormal since we were born, we would not see their differences but learn how to respect them and regard them as our friends. Therefore, it is time for gay and lesbian friends to live happily if the education system keeps instilling correct concepts to respect homosexuality.
