Picking sides of the global warming issue is not a difficult decision for me, I am against it. From a morals standpoint one would think that everyone would be against it, but that is not the case. There are those that are all about the profits from mining coal, and drilling oil. Most people are so dependent on the convenience of owning a car that going green is of no significance to them. Everybody should put the future of our country, children, and history in perspective. Just because life is good, the lives of our future generations should be of importance.

The key habits hindering my thinking when looking at the opposing view and defending my own are, my dependence on fuel and not being up to date on the issue. The world would be a much better place if people could come up with alternative means of energy and fuel. Being someone who is addicted to the convenience of owning a car and not mindful of how I burn fuel, it seems contradictory to say I am against drilling oil. We all hear about global warming, but how many people actually research it and know the details of the big debate?

Overcoming habits can be difficult, but to overcome my habits I must definitely become more active in learning about global warming, enhancing my thinking because I will be knowledgeable on the subject. Practicing what I preach is will help me overcome habits that go against what I believe in, that will also stop hindering my thinking. Saying what you believe in is one thing but being able to debate and voice your opinion one must, be knowledgeable on the subject and lead by example.
