CH. 1 what if… citizens were required to vote?

No, I do not because that would just allow for more uninformed voters to vote lessening any chance we as a people would ever have of having a leader of our nation that would be great for us as a whole , I think a persons, vote should mean something they should know exactly what their voting for and only those who are not forced can do so because their well informed on all the issues and topics of the nominee. Yes, as I stated in the previous paragraph the voters should be well informed on the individual; and their positions on all the issues that are facing our nation at that point in time, because this is something that effects us as a whole and we need someone in office that can take these issues and take care of them make them non-existent and make it able for us to move on and prosper from their term in office. It could help get more, well informed voters out there to vote and give the people a fighting chance at electing the right leader for us to right some of the wrongs in our country and help our people out of some of the struggles we may be in, such as poverty and unemployment. I think it would create unintended consequences by forcing us to vote its going against our constitutional rights as U.S. citizens thus causing conflicts between the people and our government causing everything to go haywire.

No, I don’t think that the national governments power will shift to the states because we would be considered the United States of America any more the states would be divided by different views on issues and would eventually lead to segregation of the states. Without one person in charge to keep our states in check our states would grow apart because of all the different views on certain subjects or issues and eventually break apart and cause a lot of problems with the structural power we have.
