Assignment: Exercise 15-3: Test Your Leadership Style

I really found the questionnaire interesting. It had to actually think really hard on several of them. My score was 68 on leadership and 32 on supervision. I find this very accurate and I also asked my friend to take it so I could basically test the accuracy of the questionnaire. We predicted her style before we took it just for “giggles” and it was right on target. She was fifty fifty and it was so very true. She is a supervisor now and we found the fact that this was the one that we pick a head of time fit her was very interesting.

If one interacts with their employees and gets to know them and their work style they will be able to figure out what motivates them. Leaders should use the strengths of each employee to enhance production and to give praise for the job well done. Appreciating an employee and letting them know that they are doing a great job is just the beginning of using motivational tools. I would have weekly meetings to get the employees opinion on how the productivity is progressing it would be a great motivational tool. Give the employees a chance to be a part of their job and say how they feel without being dismissed. Listening is a crucial part of being a manager. Meetings are also great to let them know what a wonderful job they are doing....
