Persuassive Thinking

Persuasive thinking:

Persuasion is the method of influencing another’s opinion or objective to conform to one’s own. How every to become a persuasive thinker one must have a precise and discipline thinking practice. A person must control emotions and also understand their surroundings, be self aware and understand human nature. It is also an art of either manipulation or persuasion. To persuade for one’s own benefit is manipulation but to persuade for a person’s own good or for society is persuasion.

Within the topic or application of critical thinking, persuasion for the good of society is considered strong sense critical thinking. This also applies to the various levels to understand and become an expert in persuasive thinking. As in critical thinking, reasoning is a pillar to determining the truth in the information. In persuasive thinking the person would need to utilize a level of common sense, to understand the demographics of the given party, exert likability and rationalize the audience.

In a hospital setting the art or persuasive thinking is the ability beneficial in the care of patients. Many patients may present themselves with a specific disorder that they feel is the diagnosis. However, the Physician when applying persuasive thinking can determine the cause of the problem, utilize reasoning and critical thinking and apply persuasion to help the patient understand. This is for the good of the patient who may have a false idea of the diagnosis. The Physician can utilize proof, rational arguments and their creditability to address the patient’s needs to provide the medical care needed. A persuasive thinker will present their arguments to the given audience and also address the opinions of that audience. This is done without intent to benefit for one’s own advantage but to assist the patients in proper medical care.
