Today I am evaluating and going over the SC-LX85 and SC-LX75 Pioneer receiver user
manual. I will be judging the manual of five different critias. The criteria’s are as followed:
layout, organization, efficiency, navigation and neatness. With layout I will cover how it is set-
up and looks. The navigation criteria I will be checking to see if everything is easy to find and
how hard it is to navigate throughout the manual. Starting with the second page I find it a very
good point to put all the warnings on this page. This is the page before the contents. I find the
contents page to be laid out so it is easy to navigate. It contains sub sections with the sections
inside broken down so it is easy to find. Navigating throughout this user’s manual is very simple
and easy to do. Throughout the manual, it gives you step by step instructions for different parts
such as installation and hooking up the surround sound. The user’s manual is laid out perfectly
in its own different sections. Along with the sections have good illustrations that actually
break down that section into easy to follow illustrations. For example, page 19 shows
illustrations on how to hook up the speakers. It gives a detailed picture or illustration on how the
wire hookup unscrew and you need to feed the speaker wire into the little hole on the side
illustrations are very clear and easy to follow.
I found this user’s manual to be longer than most manuals I have seen. I believe that if
there were more illustrations, less than 122 pages could have been used. This user’s manual is
way to long for anyone to set down and cover the whole thing within an hour. The manual is
