Shell Oil Company engages in the exploration, production, refining, transportation, distribution, marketing, and trading of oil and gas in the United States. It offers petrochemicals, biofuels and hydrogen, lubricants, liquefied natural gas, gas to liquids fuel, coal products, and hydrocarbons. The company also provides energy-related products and services, including risk management financial services, gas and power asset and supply portfolio management, and environmental products. In addition, it owns and operates refineries, wind energy projects, and gasoline stations. The company serves public and private utilities, commercial and industrial companies and energy producers. It is based out of Houston, Texas but operates as a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Royal Dutch Shell Company. Its main operations and projects are in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Alabama, Colorado, South Texas and Wyoming. It also has several locations in Canada. Its parent company, Royal Dutch Shell, has more than 120,000 employees in over 145 countries around the world. Several of its main markets reside in Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Ireland, and the Philippines just to name a few.
