In addition, it owns and operates refineries, wind energy projects, and gasoline stations. The company serves public and private utilities, commercial and industrial companies and energy producers. It is based out of Houston, Texas but operates as a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Royal Dutch Shell Company. Its main operations and projects are in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Alabama, Colorado, South Texas and Wyoming. It also has several locations in Canada. Its parent company, Royal Dutch Shell, has more than 120,000 employees in over 145 countries around the world.
