The Muslim-American population displays several needs that are only recognized and displayed by the population. Members of the population are in denial due to the fact that there are needs and because of their denial their pride and cultural impact are believed to be more needed. Those who are lacking will admit the need and seek help when desired. Haddad, Smith, & Moore (1935) states that the Islamic population struggles more academically and it is similar to the United States history to serve as teaching tool as well as a deterrent from repeating the past.

Afshar(1989) states that the economic realities of the Muslim-American communities is in part, the result of institutional completeness and enhanced by the proliferation of culture-specific goods and an educational system (pg. 15). In addition, social networks were designed for those of kin and friends, local and transnational, that “cultural orientation” defined those of the Islamic population adjust to and accept employment with minimum wage. Education is another need in the Islamic population. In addition to education, language barrier also poses a problem or advancement. Akbarzadeh and Saeed (2001) indicates the needs of the Muslims-Americans to be better educated and because there is an increase in birth rates, parents of this population feel as though their children will not grow up and achieve the proper education.

Muslim- Americans have also seemed to have adapted to the American culture by them adopting several of the American customs. Muslim Americans both young and old male and female have begun to dress in lingo of the American culture as well as becoming hipped to the music genres within their age group. When the language barrier able to be bridged it then allows more social and professional networking.
