One option: Expand co-op programs to other universities as well as increase the frequency and intensity of its new graduate recruitment efforts.

Form a global souting group dedicated to finding the best talent worldwide and brings them to RIM. EG: Canada ranked as one of the best countries in the world to live in terms of life expectancy, education and other standards of living, attract young developers esp. from emerging markets.

Utilize online job sites and search firms which specialize in technology jobs and even revamp its own career website in order to make its overall hiring experience, more efficient.

Although RIM enjoyed an excellent relationship with university of waterloo, it still needs to extend the scope of the recruiting strategy with the University of Waterloo. To improving its hiring processes by better managing the qualified pool of candidates who apply for engineering jobs, every year.

• Grow and expand existing geographies

RIM wanted to make sure that its geographic expansion is strategically executed. RIM had laid out several standards for selecting new locations for products and technology development sites.

RIM can expand its existing Product & Tech Developed facilities, across Canada and the U.S – and actively recruit engineers for those locations.

Search for mature skills to grow better.

The city or region had to have universities with strong technical programs.
