“What can you do to make the world a better place to live in?”

Present is made by past and future depends on present. In one way or another, I believe every living thing has a sole purpose. It may be a purpose biased by vision or it may be a purpose driven by will. I, as an existing human, have my own purpose, that is, taking care and protecting our vulnerable Mother Earth from any risk and danger.

As a student, I am mandated to promote cleanliness and secure a green-living community for well-being. I am also mandated to be responsible for any harm caused by my own deeds, so as to be aware for any knowledge that might help our environment. Some of these were introduced by Environmental Science.

Environmental Science helps me a lot by making me learn some important factors with regards to environmental issues and concerns. Some issues focused on various types of pollution such as water, air and land pollution as all of us already knew. Herewith, I become more aware to its causes and effects that help me think on how to minimize and prevent such pollution. It may be in my own little way yet it helps for environmental preservation. One concern that catches my interest is the Environmental Impact Assessment. From my own point of view, I see EIA as a process that requires the consideration for environment and the public participation for the decision-making in project development. Meaning to say, it requires the need of assessing a project proposal by looking for any possibilities that might cause harm to environment and to the people leaving on that environment. Engineers are associated to this issue. Since engineers are usually the project head, they are the ones who are responsible of preserving and protecting the environment by putting into account the effects of their project.
