Both South Africa and Netherlands has high labour costs, but the difference is that South Africa has low skilled labour and the Netherlands has high skilled labour. The shortage of skilled workers in South Africa is a consequence of emigration and apartheid-era education policies. At the same time, a growing number of unskilled youths are entering the labour market. Also, South Africa continues to act as a magnet for migrants from other parts of Africa. These include skilled professionals, unskilled job-seekers, illegal migrants, refugees, and cross-border traders and human trafficking is on the rise. While South Africa has “exported” skills to the developed world, it has also drawn in skilled workers from other parts of the region and the continent. Overall, the skills gap is considered a major impediment to economic growth. But in the Netherlands, there is a very high level of education and skill in the country.

We can also see that South Africa is a middle income emerging market while Netherlands is a high income emerging market, making Netherlands a more positive choice to do business in.

South Africa is a labour intensive country as we have a lack in technology and must rely more on human resources. We have social grants and human rights, but Netherlands has a high quality standard of living for its citizens.

South Africa has a diverse culture and there are 11 official languages, making it a colorful nation, something the Netherlands is also accustomed to due to high volumes of foreigners.

And for some additional information, South Africa was Ranked 3rd friendliest county in the world and the Netherlands the happiest country in the world, so it is a good combination.
