Identifying security threats is a critical part of setting up a company’s security operations. In order for a company to identify threats they must first see themselves as a threat. If a company investigates and identifies ways that they could break into their own system, they will be able to identify ways to prevent these threats. Companies that are able to identify threats at different levels will be able to better create countermeasures to deflect these threats and will be able to build them into their security systems.

There are many threats to our company, Acme Corporation. Our computer networks and servers must at all times be protected from threats. Important account numbers, inventories and blueprints of the tactical night vision goggles or MVGs are all stored on our servers and shared through our networks. Server rooms will remain locked at all times. Security of all of our buildings is extremely important as well. Security codes that will arm and disarming the security alarm systems will only be shared with key employees. There will be one entrance and one exit point for employees as well as for deliveries.

Because our company’s main product is tactical gear, specifically MVGs, produced for the U.S. military we must not share delivery dates or locations with employees who are not on a must know basis. Another possible threat would be new company hires. All employees who work on the development and design of military tactical equipment will be required to have a security clearance. Different levels of security clearances will be required for certain areas of production.

All of these threats and countermeasures will help to protect Acme Corporation from security threats. Using various tools, security threats will be detected and the proper countermeasures will be taken prevent and stop damages to the company.
