Plagiarism is really nothing new among the academic communities across the world. It has become an issue of growing concern across universities in our country and internationally. Plagiarism is a moral, ethical and legal issue. Palmquist (2003), sees it as a form of intellectual dishonesty, involves unintentionally using someone else’s work without properly acknowledging where the ideas come from or intentionally copying someone else’s work and passing it off as your own. Anyone who commits plagiarism is actually robbing himself or herself of the ability to develop originality. The problem rampant as rapidly growth of the internet in which provides a lot of academic materials.

Hence, students plagiarise for a variety of reasons and it is important to consider these before reviewing detection and prevention. Perhaps, the most common reason students plagiarise is their bad management skills. Having left it to the last minute to complete an assignment, the student panic and they will try to find the quickest solution. If a research paper or report has a next-morning deadline and no progress has been made until the night before, they convince themselves that plagiarizing is their best option. External pressure affecting much more of the student population, such as the need to work, may make the situation worse. Besides that, if students faced with an assignment they feel is completely beyond their ability, they may feel they have no other option but to copy the answers. Their poor self-motivation and laziness to accept the challenge in completing the task by their own contribute them to commit plagiarism. It is human nature to leave until last the things considered as hard or unpleasant.

Moreover, many people who plagiarize do not think they will get caught. They believe that the probability to get caught is very low. As long as their assignments have been submitted, there should be no reason for them to worried for eventhough they are copying...
