How Do Organizations Motivate and Engage Employees or Members?

When we spent days without sleeping just because we know that we have an exam w the next day and that failure is not an option? When coming back from school, we feel hunger and have an extreme urge to eat? When we reach a point in our life and we think that our troubles will take away the best part of ourselves and that there is absolutely no way to surpass it? The only think that keep us going is motivation. Our motivation is to receive our degree with merits; to find food to eat with the reward of feeling complete and healthy; to know that today we might suffer from troubles but tomorrow is another day fill with opportunities, solutions, and happy events. The internal force that creates and stimulates us to act by balancing our needs and the demands of our environment is known as motivation. Motivation is the act of giving a person a reason, incentive and motive that enables a person to take action when face with a problem or to do something which in the long run will earn the individual a reward. It is a feeling of enthusiasm or commitment that stimulates us to act in a certain way.

In today business world, the word motivation has been used and studied many times. Due to increase in competitions between numerous organizations in the quest of gaining more profits, the need to motivate employees as well as employers has become a much needed tools for the long term success of any organization. Showing appreciation, recognition, and acknowledgments are central to the exceptional performance of any employee. For a long time, the engagement of employees in the workplace has been the talk of the business world. From all that is said, I start asking myself the question… what motivates me as an employee? When was I motivated the most and why?
