Evaluation for Autumn, Computers in Art and Design

This is my evaluation of a project that I was assigned. The objective of the assignment was to gain an understanding of digital media, hardware devices and software applications while showing how the final outcome was reached.

I was assigned a project to create a series of adverts. The aim was to create a series of three advertisements that would be shown in a magazine. The advertisements were to sell autumn fashion product/s of my choice. I decided that my series of advertisements would be selling children’s clothing because this was out of my comfort zone. However, something I felt comfortable enough with to create a good outcome. I wanted to create an outcome where I knew I had to challenge myself.

To begin this assignment I had to research other excising advertisements. I looked at advertisements that I found in my magazines as well as children’s clothing advertisements that I found on the internet. I gave up with a number of different ideas and then decided on the idea that would work the best. I decided that I would use a typical autumn setting in a park where you could really capture the autumn light, textures and setting. I liked the strong burnt oranges and browns that I was able to show in my photographs. I then went out and took hundreds of test shots to get to my final outcome. Once I had took these test shots I narrowed my shots down to 4 final photographs that I wanted to feature in my advertisements. I chose a very basic photograph for my first photograph because I liked how simplistic and basic it was. The photograph is of fallen leaves that I found on the grass. I felt that when I added information it would still be really visible and eye catching but the writing could also be easily read.
