CROHN'S DISEASE:

"A chronic inflammatory bowel disease of unknown origin, usually affecting the ileum, the colon, or both structures"

10 SYMPTOMS:

Anemia: Too few red blood cells in the bloodstream, resulting in insufficient oxygen to tissues and organs.

Diarrhea: The frequent passage of loose, watery stools. The stools may also contain mucus, pus, blood, or excessive amounts of fat. Simply, it is a frequent and profuse discharge of loose or fluid evacuations from the intestines

Steatorrhea: Greater than normal amounts of fat in the feces. Moreover, steatorrhea (or steatorrhoea) is the formation of bulky, grey or light colored stools

Abscess: A cavity containing pus and surrounded by inflamed tissue, formed as a result of suppuration in a localized infection (characteristically, a staphylococcal infection).

Malabsorption: Impaired absorption of nutrients from the GI tract. It occurs in celiac disease, sprue, dysentery, diarrhea, and other disorders and may result from an inborn error of metabolism, malnutrition etc.

Fever: An abnormal elevation of the temeperature of the body above 37° C (98.6° F) because of disease.

Anorexia: Lack or loss of apetite, resulting in the enability to eat, imaciation, amenorrhea, emotional disturbance concerning body image, and an abnormal fear of becoming obese.

Abdominal pain: Acute or chronic localized or diffuse pain in the abdominal cavity.

Arthritis: Any inflammatory condition of the joints, characterized by pain and swelling.

Odynophagia: A severe sensation of burning, squeezing pain while swallowing, caused by irritation of the mucosa or a muscular disorder of the esophagus, such as gastroesophageal reflux, bacterial or fungal infection, tumor, achalasia, or chemical irritation.
