Intellectual Property Law

Intellectual property, sometimes referred to as IP, is in reference to something created by one’s mind. Examples of intellectual property include designs, images, names, symbols, and inventions of all types, even literary and artistic works. Intellectual property law is a field that involves filing for copyright and patents to protect the creator of the intellectual property and provides those with intellectual property in the direction they need to take for them to properly capitalize on those works and inventions. By providing guidance and the legal remedy when a person or organization have their intellectual property infringed upon. The field of law that assist, protects, enforces and helps to develop new and groundbreaking legal avenues to the truly artistic, innovative and scientific geniuses that of Intellectual Property Law that is a premise of how, these sometimes intangible, but real property, is protected and the creative juices are nurtured and the thriving continuity of progressive development assured.

Intellectual property law has long history and most believed to be the protect notable authors from those trying to get rich themselves plagiarizing those authors words as their own or from a publisher that took the manuscript of a nondescript writer and publishing the work under another author or under a fictitious pen name. Today the stakes have grown to the multibillion-dollar range with the addition of electronic media and the music industry, and ultimately the ownership and fair usage of intellectual property. These issues appear to be ever expanding and encompass us all, whether we know it or not.

Intellectual property is at the forefront of society’s mind and permeates every aspect of our lives. It affects us all whether we are directly involved in it’s creation, copyright or trademark, licensing, marketing, sale or just...
