Although the business volume generated by Gold Peak's B2B efforts is much more significant than that generated through the company’s B2C business, applying a more competitive e-commerce strategy along with a well implemented ERP system would provide an E-Business platform to enable both B2B and B2C. This will empower the organization to increase the value added not only to its individual customers but to its business partners, while maximize investments, reducing operational costs, and achieving operational excellence. However, the public's concerns over the security of electronic transactions will need to be addressed to help with placing more focus on the B2C business model.

The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system that GPE is currently investigating will enable computer-to-computer data exchange thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. This will allow those customers that would rather have GPE directly input the transaction data into their systems to save valuable time on re-keying data along with the customers that are comfortable with accessing and do not mind using such information on their own. Furthermore, GPE's plans with translating the platform into Chinese will help in the company's future success in gaining that competitive edge.

WAN systems have been standardized in order to access information stored at any other group regardless of location to ensure the continuance of effective and efficient information sharing amongst the Hong Kong office. The company will also need to come up with an adequate infrastructure in Hong Kong for finance and technology in e-business adoption and to gain a competitive advantage. Additionally, adding an IT literate programmer holding extensive knowledge of the industry will also aid in the development of e-business and to help combat the shortage of competent manpower and will help ensure the company's success in achieving their goals.
