The Modern Olympic Games

1. The first modern Olympic game was first held in 1896 as the exact date is unknown.

2. The first modern Olympic game was first held at Athens, Greece.

3. The importance of the Olympics is for a friendly, international competition between countries that otherwise would be in a conflict. Also, it gives recognition to the greatest athletes of the world and their dedication. Finally, it brings a peaceful and international meeting where the violence of the world in conflict and can be forgotten and a resting atmosphere can set over the Olympics.

4. The events which took place in the first modern Olympics were Athletics, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, shooting, swimming, tennis, weight lifting and wrestling. So, there are nine activities that took place.
