1 Introduction

Over the last century, the society has evolved with innovation and new technologies, and the population growing. These factors increase the consumption of energy each day even if the energy intensities decline (Omer 2008, 2271-2272). Also this development destroyed the environment by using too much fuel energy. Scientists cannot stop the development it wills still growing but they can find cleaner alternative to preserve the environment for the future such as the nuclear energy (Yi-Chong 2008, 260). Nuclear power is a serious debate for the future energy supply and the environment sustainability (Yi-Chong 2008, 260). This bring about question such as “Should nuclear energy can be used as an alternative energy for the sustainable development?” Some people claim that nuclear power cannot be a sustainable energy because it is a dangerous energy and can be destructive for the society. Another kind of people said that nuclear power should be use to slow down the global warming and increase the energy supply (Yi-Chong 2008, 262). That’s why countries need to have a strict and an effective regulation to control this energy. This report will study the place of nuclear power as a future sustainable energy. Firstly it will show the issues of nuclear power towards the sustainable development, secondly it will examine the advantage to use this energy for the future and finally give some recommendation to use nuclear.

2 Nuclear power

2.1 Definition

The nuclear energy discovered by Henri Becquerel, a scientist physicist, in 1896 is created through a complex process in nuclear power station. Scientists use uranium, which is a natural metal that is extracted from the different ore, and other chemicals elements to create a reaction. There are two types of reaction, the nuclear fusion energy and the nuclear fission energy (Nuclear energy, n.d). The nuclear fusion energy release more energy than the fission energy but scientist have trouble to control and convert...
