The second mentoring session of the the module Entrepreneurship and Business (E&B) was a good learning experience for my team, Corona and me. Our module conveyor, Dr.Kenny Wong prepared an exercise called Lost on the Moon Exercise for us to complete. The exercise is about how a space crew originally scheduled to rendezvous with a mother ship on the lighted surface of the moon but due to mechanical difficulties, the ship was forced to crash-land at a spot some 200 miles from the rendezvous point. The rough landing damaged much of the equipment abroad and since survival depends on reaching the mother ship, the most critical items available must be chosen for the 200 mile trip.

There was a list of 15 items left intact after the landing. Our task was to rank the items from the most important (1 in the most important) to least important (15 the least important). Firstly, we had to do the ranking individually in 5 minutes, and then we were given 25 minutes to do the ranking by discussing with our group.

By doing the exercise individually, I had to think by myself what might be the most important item in the space. My knowledge about astronomy and the moon was put to a test. I ranked the two 100-pound tanks of oxygen the most important and the box of matches the least important. The other items that was on the list is food concentrate, 50 feet of nylon rope, parachute silk, portable heating unit, two .45 caliber pistols, dehydrated milk, stellar map, life raft, magnetic compass, 5 gallons of water, signal flares, first-aid kit containing injection needles and...
