Came down to one race. The last event of this meet determined who was going to win this duel meet. I was the very last person of my relay, and in order to win this meet I had to get 1st. My whole team was counting on me. I could feel the pressure lying on my shoulders. Although it was our first meet of the season, we came to win and start our season undefeated. Before the race started, I always wear my bright hot pink headphones, which are attached to my Iphone. My Pandora app is pumping the motivating music of Taylor Swift. Because she inspires my drive to swim to the top of my ability. As I saw the last person of the breaststroke touch the wall, I knew it was time to focus on my race.

I snag off my hot pink headphones, my black comfortable Dunlap warms ups and waited on the old cranky referees to start the race. Finally the referees blew his high pitch loud whistle for the first swimmer to approach the white bumpy block. Then I heard the ringing beeper start the race, which is the most annoying sound a racer will hear. However every swimmer is accustomed to jump when they hear the whistle. Head of me, I saw calming water turn into a massive pool of waves as all six swimmers enter the icy cold water. As we aggressively entered the water, we had a great start. Unfortunately, so did the other team. We were swimming approximately half a body length behind the other team. The fierce competitor had an extremely speedy third swimmer who snatches to take over the race. As the race was unfolding before my eyes, my knees were shaking from being so nervous.

As the third swimmer was approaching the wall, I felt my heart beat begin to race rapidly. The first swimmer touched the wall. At last, I was hit the cold invigorating water. The water felt like I was taking an ice bath. As I plunged into the water, my muscles tensed but I used the feeling for motivation.
