One could argue that two people from different positions in life would look at unemployment differently. A person that has struggled their whole life would look at unemployment as a very tragic thing that can cause them to loose their house, their vehicle and livelihood. Someone that is of a higher stature may view unemployment as a temporary set back or an option to gain better employment. One has option and the other is limited. The limited options may lead to desperation and depression etc.

Mood has a lot to do with the outcome of a situation. If the person is in a good mood, most likely they will see the situation more positively and not get upset as easily. Where if we are in a bad mood, we might take certain things more personally and directed against us.

Most think that personality plays a major fact in how we see or interpret a situation. Therefore, the kind of personality we posses will influence the outcome of the situation. In 1968, Walter Mischel challenged the assumption that personality determined behavior, and instead claimed that people's behavior from situation to situation was variable and depended on the situational circumstances. In other words, the "situation" view is that behavior depends on the situation itself, whereas the personality view is that behavior depends on long-held characteristic personality styles and is consistently displayed no matter the situation. (Neill 2007)

Weather it is mood or personality; I personally believe it depends a lot on happiness. How happy the person is in their everyday lives, and weather they are a maximizer or a satisficer. The maximizer in this case of unemployment would look at the situation and plan a strategy for not only finding a job, but finding the best job for them. One that would satisfy them and that they would enjoy. While the satisficer would probably take the first job they found rather they liked it or not and again go through life miserable and unhappy.
