Plastic

Plastic. It is a man made material that can be formed into so many different things and has come into our society over the years, as conveniences and necessities. Weather it is cell phones, toys, computer part, food containers, medical supplies, or even automobile parts, these synthetic things that we once valued as part of our lives are now obsolete to us. Once it is no longer needed or convenient, it is discarded in trash or out in the environment. Often times, our discarded plastic becomes pollution either as air pollution from being burned, pollution of our waterways, or even pollution in our land and soil. Plastic that ends up as pollution in our environment pose a serious threat or even death to all wide life of marine, land, and air. Wasted plastic also poses health threat to people as well. This health threat comes from wasted plastic is buried in the soil, where it can stay for a very long time, since it is not biodegradable. The oils and chemicals from buried plastic contaminates the soil and water supplies that are used by people all over the world. Proper recycling of this material can help eliminate this material from out of our precious environment.

Acids

Acids that are a result of human activity or catastrophic events such as volcanic eruptions are usually formed naturally in the atmosphere, where chemicals such as carbon dioxide, which is a non-metal oxide, exist naturally. Oxides of this type tend to react with the water molecules produce a hydroxyl acid, for example carbonic acid. This hydroxyl acid then has a reaction with the water molecules, resulting in hydronium ions. Hydronium ions make the substance containing the hydrogen fall below 7, which is considered a neutral ph. An example of this would include the reaction between water and carbon dioxide. There are several air borne pollutants from man, which include industrial air pollutants as well as toxic emissions from internal combustion engines of all kinds....
