Growing up my parents taught me to be independent and that nothing is impossible to achieve. As a result I have accomplished a lot in the last couple of years. My life took a drastic change when I was 15 and moved on my own to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, to begin a track and field program in high school. I learned to be self-reliant and I am very thankful to my parents showing me the importance of independence at such an early age. Thus, I managed my life in Stockholm pretty well.

Education has always been fundamental in my family and they are very supportive in my decisions. When the opportunity to study in the United States arose, I took full advantage of it and did not think twice about it. Sweden has many strengths in education but America offers more variety in academics and not to mention the abundance of opportunities.

I am currently enrolled in Business Management and this is my second semester at Borough of Manhattan. The experience that I have gained from these two semesters is priceless and I am very privileged to be a part of. Being at BMCC has given me a lot of clarity about my academic and professional goals. I want to graduate with honors and continue my consistent straight A performance in all my classes. Furthermore, have the opportunity to continue my education to a University of my choice where I can work towards a Bachelors degree and also have the choice of various challenging internships that will be paramount to my career.

My professional goals in life are to work for an organization that contributes to society and the world. My passion in life is to help people and I see myself working in organizations such as, The United Nations, The Swedish Embassy/Consulate or manage a non-profit organization i.e. The Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders. I feel that it is of great importance to give back to the world.

Knowledge is built through education and life experiences and I believe that a scholarship is the best way...
