The sophistication in technology on today’s world has made the television indispensible for the transfer of information. Despite the fact that television has replaced the functions of reading material of being a channel for information transferring, nonetheless television programme at the meantime bring some unsuitable elements to us. Due to these negative implications, the action of censorship is introduced. Nowadays, censorship appears in most of the television programme and unconsciously instills some effects on society.

Movie can be interesting but might harmful and affect people. The most apparently reality is that these movies have instilled violence on our society and creates a whole body of young people who are incapable of talking through their problems; they know nothing except how to use their fist. (Singingman.10/8/2008).) Censorship on those movies can prevent those elements from spreading across the society hence form a rational society who would not solve problems by violence. Certain content is withheld from public viewing simply because content shown is of an explicit and obscene nature, that must be monitored before viewing. (Manohar, U.3/2/2012)

The content are not realistic thus creates a false sense of reality and influences especially young children. Therefore, censorship is forced to be made on these movies to avoid young children from imitating those movies. “For example, in one incident after viewing the movie The Program, a teen-aged boy was killed and two others were injured after lying down along the centerline of a highway. The teenagers were imitating a scene from the movie.”(Postman.1985). These real life evidence can strongly demonstrate the destructive implication of television programme without censorship is that people are passive beings easily influenced by what they see. Television violence may influence children which is making them want to imitate what they see. (D.Black & M.Newman. 4/2/1995)
