Initial Reflection

I feel very pleased about studying for a BSc degree in Management with Human Resources, this is an area in which I believe and in which I want to develop, since my plan is to work in this area when I graduate, particularly in recruiting and in admissions departments, to look for skilled, talented people and to help them develop and expand their capacities is something that excites and inspire me.

On the last three years I’ve been studying languages and humanities in Portugal and even though I have a certain interest in this subject this is not an area in which I could use and develop my personal skills, the course that would have suited me better would be socioeconomic sciences, however this course wasn’t available at the time and unfortunately there wasn’t much information disposable for the students. And the opportunity to change courses appeared when I was during my last year, therefore I would have to choose between finish my humanities course or to wait and repeat the three years but this time in economy, and that was something that I didn’t want to do.

Also when it was time to make university applications I was under a lot of stress and pressure and ended up applying for Law and now I realise that I probably wouldn’t be able to succeed in it in the same way that I will be able at a course of Management and Human Resources since that is an area that I have a deep interest and in which I have been indirectly developing skills for years by organising, supervising and managing everything around me. Also Human Resources are the area of business in which I have a great amount of interest and this is interest is something that I have wanted to consolidate for a really long time.

When considering my skills and aptitudes I have some weakness in which I am working hard so I can lose such as the fact that I can be and unenthusiastic sometimes, I take time to start assignments and projects and I may not go as far as my potential goes for some project due to being a...
