Progressive Era through the Great Depression

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper on the period from the Progressive Era through the Great Depression.

Your paper should cover the following:

Identify at least (2) two major historical turning points in the period under discussion.

Analyze the impact of the two (2) or more major historical turning points selected on America’s current society, economy, politics, and culture.

The Great Depression was an event that is certainly a huge turning point. There was a huge drought all through many states in the Great Plains and westerly produced what is referred to as the Dust Bowl. Many farms would destroyed, which caused food hard to come back. Farmers and their families had to leave their homes and farm areas to find other places to live. Also during all of this turmoil, the stock market crashed. Banks went under which caused a lot of people’s life savings to just vanish. For the first time in American history, there was extraordinary poverty issue and hopelessness throughout the country.

Another turning point was World War I. World War I, also known as the First World War was a global battle that took place between 1914 and 1918. It entangled most of the nations of Europe while including parts of Russia, the Middle East, the United States and other regions. The war pitted the Central Powers against the Allies. The Central power consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey and the allies were France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, and Japan. The United States joined in the fight in 1917. It ended with the defeat of the Central Powers. The war was practically unparalleled in the carnage, bloodshed, and devastation it caused.

World War I was a big turning point in U.S. history. World War I ultimately caused the ruin of the great imperial dynasties. The four dynasties were Germany, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey. The fall of the dynasties resulted in...
