The day of promotion into upper level management is both exciting and rewarding. It will not be easy to find a replacement for my last position and applying what I have learned on the job as well as through my educational experience. The selection process will be tedious and worthwhile as to find the exact candidate to fill my shoes. I know that I will choose the proper candidate but it will take some time and patience to do so.

Upon learning that I will be entering into management at the current time, I now possess the skill and understanding to choose the right employee to fill this position. The job analysis program that will be initiated will be placed to understand the job at hand. Job analysis is a technique used to provide an understanding of what is really important and helps you to get a grip on what needs to be accomplished. This in turn will give the prospective employee an idea of what the priorities are of the job as well as to “cut through clutter and distraction to get to the heart of what you need to do. And it shows you the tasks you should try to drop” (Stress Management from Mind Tools, 2012, para.3).

Several areas need to be addressed in order to perform a job analysis. The first area will be to “review formal job documentation. Look at your job description. Identify the key objectives and priorities within it. Look at the forms for the periodic performance reviews.
