INTRODUCTION

BIA stands for Business Impact Analysis. The Business Continuity Plan starts from BIA. It is basically a logical process which helps in determining the number and degree of impacts on business and operations in case of any kind of incidents or failures (Wrenn, 2005).

Omega’s main business deals with selling services to the customers. The services mainly include searching the consultants and the resources and then supplying the required resources to the client as soon as possible. If the system does not function properly due to outage or any other issue then definitely Omega will suffer a huge loss, including large penalties. SAP system has been implemented in an AIX environment. The company has a 2 days window for the restoration of the system without borrowing any money. But the cost and other overhead charges will be increased. Only payroll function and audit & compliance functions have workarounds in case of nay issues. This is mentioned in the interview of Reyes Emme, “by self insuring payroll funding for a week to ten day period, Omega can provide estimated payroll and then rectify many issues once the system is back online.”

Recommendation and Analysis

All the office units of Omega Inc are dependent on the existing infrastructure. It also includes security and information system. Each of its offices follows their rules and policies for username, Password, etc. There is not a single policy rule which is being followed throughout the organization. So this is for the manager’s concern that a common set of policies should be applied to each of the location. Updated security systems should be implemented for disaster recovery management. The main and primary goal of each of its offices should be common and that is the overall growth of the business and profit generation, focussing individually on local market and areas of growth.
