Determine how you would manage the morale of the team related to the change management.

First let me start by defining morale, it is the general mood of a person and whether he or she is confident, motivated and willing to perform tasks. As a project manager, part of the challenge is to maintain your team’s morale throughout all phases of the project including that which is related to change management. To manage the morale of my team as it relates to change management, I would first gain the support and confidence of my team by walking the talk. It is very important to get the whole team involved in the change process. I would listen to the concerns of my team and would work very closely with them to ensure they understand the impact of the change and are comfortable with the change.

My team would have the confidence that as their manager, full accountability for my work as well as the work of my team would be my responsibility. I would ensure that I provide feedback to my team and other peers that are in a constructive manner that will be effective and will aid in their adapting and accepting the change. Building strong relationships with team members will enable me as a leader to delegate task and get buy-in from key players. I would motivate and inspire my team members by always having an open communication from the very beginning throughout the project by showing my appreciation and gratitude for their hard work and support. I would show them that I am concerned about their feelings of the change and ensure them that we will successfully move forward.

Clear direction will be provided to the team on what their roles are in the change and the impact it will have on the organization.
