Zappos

1. I believe that Zappos is a responsive organization because instead of focusing on becoming the largest shoe retailer on the internet they decided to enhance a company culture, designed to make employees happy. When customers take a chance on picking out shoes from a website, they want to trust that the seller will ensure they are satisfied with everything about the purchase, from shoe style and fit to fast delivery and an easy returns policy. So yes I believe that Zappos is a responsive organization because of their ability to adapt to the changing demands and control people, decisions, and actions. Zappos is very responsive. Local call center in Kentucky allows them to have quick response times. After the recent downsizing, Zappos will need to reorganize to remain responsive. The actual downsizing won't affect responsiveness because of how well they integrate their employees. Those who stay will be able to handle the responsibility of keeping their standards up to par.

The company defined its corporate culture with its ten core values. The HR and management systems developed, employee job descriptions, the hiring process, on the job training and the day to day work environment remind and reinforce these values with employees, visitors, customers, and partners

3. Standard personality types can lead to a culturally diverse workplace but not a very diverse type of employee. Because they hire many of the same types of people, the environment could lead to a monotonous feeling with employees. They don't do much traditional advertising for jobs which leads to also recruiting more of the same types of employees as well obviously limiting their potential...
