Executive Summary

This report is prepared to analyze a case study on a private company belonging to the Australian Health Care Industry. Dutiful Daughters is a private Sydney based company started off by Helen Whitney a nurse by profession in February 2000.

The case study gives a brief about the aged care industry and how Dutiful Daughter fits in it. The services provided by Dutiful Daughters and how Helen treats her employee as an asset is underlined in the case study.

With the increase in demand of Aged Care facilities, Dutiful Daughter plans to expand its business but without losing its core value – Personal Touch Quality Service.

The report discusses two strategies of expansion: a) Franchising & b) Entering another market of health care facility. Dutiful Daughter needs to assess their financial condition and willingness to take up either of the pathway. Either ways the key to the quality service depends on the employees recruited.

A brief job description is presented to help understand kind of employee to look out for. Assessing the kind of work and going by research it was found that mostly a middle-aged woman working part-time for some income would be the kind of employee applying for the job.

However to maintain the high quality service strict selection criteria was strategized to strain the applicants and interview the best fit for the organization.

Report also suggests Dutiful Daughter to undergo a marketing makeover staring from its website and build a brand to attract clients and applicants for the job.
