Network management Systems have become a part of everyday life for most companies. These systems control, monitor, and maintain all the aspects of the network in use. The Network management system is composed of many smaller aspects of the system that are put together to create a customizable Network Management system.

A network Management Systems is built of different programs and features that all handle their day to day roles in the network management process. I believe the most important aspect of the Network Management System is the actual manager. The manager is a software or application that controls the other features and programs that are being used by the Network Management System. The manager is usually a software program that is purchased from a third party company and implemented on the network. There are many different managers out on the market today from many different software development companies. Selecting the correct manager is the most important part of the entire process, because if the proper manager is not selected, you could purchase more than you need or you could purchase not enough. Before selecting a manager, the network administrators need to determine what they want the Network Management System to monitor, control, report, and resolve. Most managers on the market today are compatible with other systems allowing the user to mix and match the Network System Manager to create a customizable system to meet certain specifics. Come of the Network System Management managers include: SolarWinds, Cisco, HP Open view, Hyperic HQ, Nagios, NetXMS, etc… These are some of the more popular systems and these offer all different aspects to control and monitor. The manager is the application that controls features such as the Performance Monitor, Network Analyzer, VoIP Quality of Service, Bandwidth Analyzer, and many other features...
