Good afternoon to all my fellow classmates, I would like to introduce myself. My name is XXXXXX; I am currently an instrumentation and electrical designer/drafter. I have been working in the refining industry for going on 11 years. I made the decision just after graduating high school to follow in my father’s footsteps, and go into the refining industry. I based this decision solely on the financial benefits, without any prior knowledge that education would play a significant role in my success as well as any advancement opportunities.

I have now come to the decision that an accredited education is the only way I can become an asset to the company as opposed to a liability. I did some research as well as had some discussions with previous students of AIU. In that I decided to complete my education online due to my lifestyle and work load. I am currently seeking to obtain a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in project management. I want to learn the roles and responsibilities a project manager deals with on a daily basis. I want to learn to manage the budget while maintaining a constant progression towards completing the project in the time allotted. As these past ten years have come and gone, I have been told that I needed to go into projects or a management role. I am a able multi-task efficiently while still being able to complete the tasks I’m given. My communication skills are heavily regarded when it comes to relaying information regarding any project or task that is going on at the time.

After exploring the virtual campus resources, I found that they offer not only the ability to listen and read them, but also the ability to see and visualize what you are hearing. So many of the students have different learning types and with these options they will be able to retain the information at a faster pace.
