THE IMPACT OF INCREASING NUMBER OF BILLBOARDS IN CITY KARACHI
INTRODUCTION:-
The issue of massive growth of billboards in Karachi needs to be highlighted. Over the past years, there has been a tremendous increase in the growth of billboards placed everywhere, unnecessarily and also illegally. They are on the roofs and walls of tall buildings also the residential area, some on the bridges, footpaths, greenbelts and where not.
The problem is not the placement of the billboards in the city but the fact that these ad agencies are taking the advantage of the situation as no one is stopping them from erecting billboard wherever they please just because they are making good money out of it
Quite sadly, the government and the cantonment board have been little too uninterested in taking actions against the private profiteers because they are also enjoying the share of profits
Billboards could be a safety hazards to the pedestrians, especially at times of rains or storms. They are ruining the city image also
Thus the need arises to find solutions to eliminate the growing number of enormous distracting, illegal, haphazard and ugly looking billboards
PROBLEM STATEMENT:-
• To find out the impact of increasing number of billboards in Karachi
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES:-
• To examine views and responses of different people in relation to the placement of hoardings and billboards all over the city of Karachi
• Since different people will have different perspectives so comparing the responses will be made to find out what significance these haphazardly places billboards hold in their minds and how these billboard affect consumers at the time of storms and rainfall.
• To find out the impact of increasing number of billboard in Karachi
• To find out the impact of electricity consumptions by these billboards and how consumers find it with this perspective.
