Integrative Network Design Project

Kudler Fine Foods currently operate out of three locations with the home office located at La Jolla, CA and two other locations at Del Mar, CA and Encinitas, CA. The three locations are connected via a dedicated T3 which provides a 44.6 MBs connection between all three locations. The networks at all three of the organizations locations are similar in terms of components and configuration. The La Jolla store network, services approximately nineteen personnel with the Del Mar and Encinitas locations networks servicing six personnel each. Consists of one HP Blade Server System C3000 running a Unix Operating System (OS) that supports the organizations web, email, print/file services, SAP Retail Software and storage control. (Apollo Group, Inc., 2013). The network T3 network also supports nine Point of Sale (POS) terminals with a POS server at each location, 31 Dell Vostro Computers running Windows 7 OS, 31 Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phones, eight HP printers, three 10 TB Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices with one at each location, three Cisco routers, and three Cisco firewalls with one firewall and router at each location (Apollo Group, Inc., 2013). All network components at each location are connected by a 100 Base T Ethernet which supports the inter-store network and a 25 MBs link to the Internet (Apollo Group, Inc., 2013).

The current network configuration for Kudler Fine Foods allows each store to communicate with each other over the dedicated T3 connection which helps to ensure that the Point of Sale terminals and servers to maintain an accountability and inventory of products at each location.
