The United States is a very diverse Nation, even more than thought of. I learn in this course that my race is not the only subordinate group that has been subjected to discrimination and prejudice in the America. This course has allowed me to see how easy it is to stereotype others, some time not even being aware of it. There is still a lot of mistrust among racial and subordinate groups. I have learned that Race does not matter; race has many different meanings to many different people. The information learned about race and ethnicity has helped me to better understand, be more tolerant, and sympatric about the Arab Americans. I must admit after 9-11 I stereotype this group of people as” terrorist”, however this class and research has allowed me to see them as Americans who are interested in the education of their children and have some of the same problems that I have and not all are” terrorists”, like all Afro American cannot play basketball.

After during research in this class on my own culture and history I found that not only were African Americans colonized, our own leaders in Africa made profit on our ancestors in the slave trade(Markus Redlker, who built America?, and Slave Ships: a human history). I learned more about the Civil Rights movement that I did not know growing up in this era.

According to the United States Census by the year 2050 the people that are bi-racial will triple, that means them minority will become the majority, The nation will be more racially and ethnically diverse, as well as much older, by midcentury, according to projections released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The country can best prepare for the changing race and ethnicity in the future by educating ourselves and teaching the younger generation to the different cultures of others, to respect other, learn about different ethnic groups for yourself, and just learn people for yourself.
