As the Network Manager of this company the suggested Topology to use is the Extended Star Topology with a strong network security (Computer Networking Notes, 2010) states that the use of the Extended Star network allows for additional devices to be added to the network. The Extended Star Topology design has its advantages and disadvantages and it is best to build to the strengths of the network and to make the negatives of the network be protected to strengthen the weak part of the design.

The Extended Star Topology is accessible to interference and its use according to (Computer Networking Notes, 2010) is not as protected as Coaxial Cabling is. Another disadvantage to using Extended Star Topology is that it is more expensive as far as the cabling and hub that is required to install the technology design.

The advantages of Extended Star Topology as stated by (Katherine Lady Burke, 2007) is that it is upgradeable which makes it easy to plug in the added workstations or computers. The Extended Star Topology is easy to modify and new host and devices can be added quickly. The Extended Star Topology is reliable as stated by (Katherine Lady Burke, 2007) if one of the lines to a certain device is down it does not affect the other...
