CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, the need for technology grows every day in all aspects of living. There are systems being developed to support education, entertainment, health businesses and a lot more. As the technology advances, the library also is advancing with the help of it. Most of the library today uses technology to make the transactions done in the library a lot easier and faster. With this, the library is not left behind of the new advances that technology can do today.
Traditionally, library systems are implemented manually. In the library of The Fisher Valley College, forms of students are given to the librarian, the librarian will process them manually and compile them. Indeed, the manual Library System is very costly, time consuming and tedious.
The Three in one Library System, is a system with Book Borrowing System, Computerized Files in Library and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog). With this the librarian won't have to manually fix the files, fill up the forms, and check the books. This will help the librarian perform tasks much easier, faster and more organize than the manual library system.
Background of the Study
The library in other schools have already created a system designed to enhance the performance of their library, in UP the students have their online accounts and they use it in borrowing books and monitoring the students in the library, in other universities also, they are using computerized library system to make task easier, the National Library has also provided itself library system useful for their library.
In The Fisher Valley College the librarian and the library users still use the manual way of transacting of borrowing and returning of books .The librarian use log books in listing the books.
