Where can the line be drawn for the limit or best suitable amount of animals for a certain amount of area? Or is there a line at all for this certain number of animals per area? One might ask oneself, “Is there a limit for the number of deer a certain area can sustain?” The answer is yes and there are some ways to control these numbers. What is the most reasonable way to prevent overpopulation and control the already growing population? The most effective scenario for this instance would be hunting and it brings with it many positive biological effects.

Hunting is defined by the act of pursuing with the purpose of catching or killing of animals. This has been an act of survival back from the times of the first humans and is still being practiced today all over the world. This is mainly referring to the historic hunter and gatherer people of every continent. It was a basic activity of life to ensure the survival of their being. Today hunting is very different than the times back in the historic days. Today food and clothing are a very accessible and thus making hunting an activity that isn’t so required. Without this certain activity, what would happen to the world around us? Would nature be able to support all of the deer, as well as the millions of other animals running all over the planet?

With the increase of industrialization and development on nature’s land, how is this affecting the number of animals the land is able to support? With the decrease of livable land for animals, is it possible to have an overpopulation? Yes is the answer for both. With the rising number of deer for instance, there is an increase in the demand for food. With the increase for food, but decrease in land, what will happen to due to the shortage?
