Club IT, Part Two

I have spent three months as an intern at Club IT from opening to closing hours. I have spent some time obtaining information from Ruben, Lisa, and the hired on staff. Club IT is an intense dance club that offers excitement to young and middle aged adults. Club IT has grown fast and looks forward to opening another club in the future. The time I have spent at the club interviewing Ruben, Lisa, and staff I realized a few business problems at Club IT that can improvement.

The three problems I notice during my internship are first Club ITs hard ware and Internet need an upgrade. Club IT is using dial-up Internet connection that makes browsing the Internet slow. Second, staff needs a better way to keep track of inventory and customer orders on busy days. The wait staffs on busy days are taking extra steps and look confused. Third, Ruben and Lisa need to invest in e-commerce. Ecommerce will provide an online store for customer convince. Equipping Club IT with these three tools will help Ruben and Lisa provide a better efficient and excellent service.

Ruben and Lisa should start by making a few changes on their hardware. The first thing I would recommend is an increase in memory. Then upgrade to Windows XP Pro. Then recommend changing out the dial-up service to a wireless broadband. “Because a wide band of frequencies is available, more information may be transmitted in a given amount of time” (Keri E. Pearlson, 2005) A broadband will increase the speed of the Internet. Acquiring a faster Internet connection will make it easier for web browsing and online purchasing.

Club IT needs new software that will help with inventory, purchasing, and keeping track of customer orders. I recommend investing in Restaurant Plus software.
