Introduction

Success in college demands a certain level of skills and ability. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds such as residence, social surroundings, religious beliefs, and different levels of previous education. So with this in mind you can probably assume that most students have a very different skill set, but one in particular that must be universally mastered disregarding background is the ability to manage your time. It sets the stage for the upcoming day, week, and month(s) to come. Having personal responsibility in relation to time management is very important as it is how a student is able to be accountable for their work and being able to meet assignment deadlines. Without having a good understanding of its (time management) importance a student could very well find themselves falling behind and missing out on very useful learning opportunities.

Time management is crucial for college success

To achieve one’s goals, which for most of the students of this class would be to finish college a strong understanding of how to manage one’s time must be understood. A student has so many tools available to them through their Universities these days that if they can take on the personal responsibility to do some careful planning that they would enjoy the sweet taste of victory. There are many different ways to be successful and each student has the ability to decide for his or herself which methods work best. My personal preference is setting up a weekly schedule of work to be done and then from there it can be taken even further by prioritizing a particular assignments importance. The beauty about time management is that it isn’t carved in stone, choosing the best method that works and applying will help anyone in their quest to achieve success.
