Abstract

My Personal Plan for Success was a work in progress from the beginning of this class until the very end. Beginning with defining my career goals and ending by learning how to do research on the internet. I have learned a lot about myself as an individual. I’ve learned how to study properly for the first time in my life. I have had a reality check in my life and I strongly believe that my Personal Plan for Success will not only help me in my academic career but in life as well. This plan will continue to help me succeed in every aspect of my life in the near and far off future.

Academic and Career Goals

My academic goal is to earn my degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resources. Throughout my life experiences working in different fields such as nursing I have decided that I need to finish my degree that I started back in 1985 at Stetson University. This accomplishment will make me feel better about myself as a person and I feel that I can provide for my family better. My motivation for going back to school is both intrinsic and extrinsic. I would always ask myself what I want to do with my life when I do finally “grow up.” I kept making excuses such as “I’m too old to go back to school.” Then it hit me when my mother passed away. I did not have a degree. Yes I have my nursing certificate from nursing school, but I did not go on to become a Registered Nurse. I need to be able to provide for my family since it is just me. I look at my children and grandchild and think they are the reason that I need to do this. Not just for myself but for them also. They encourage me. I know that it will not be easy since I have to relearn how to study and manage my time more wisely. The support system that I have at Argosy is one that makes...
