Action Plan Essay

The problem I am dealing with is to decide what direction I want to in with my major. I have three options: business finance, financial planning or investments and financial analysis. The choice is of great importance to me, because it is the first step in planning my future career. In most instances, my future job will have a necessary link with the major I choose. Then, I will choose the direction that I am very interested in and would like to learn more about it. It is the subject that I would like to spend most of my time on it, since interest is the most effective motion for study. In my future time of study, I will make further academic research and solve varieties of problems all on this major. Honestly, I have learned a lot through the process of this researching project. What I should search first is the summary of each major, which is essential for me to understand. Many other factors should also be considered when making the decision, such as job development and personality. According to Worthington, “students choose specific majors which they see as compatible with their particular personality styles” (Worthington). I think personality is one of the most important factors we should consider.

As I mentioned before, what I need to do first is to have a general understanding of each major. This is very useful for me to compare the difference of them and get a clear thinking. Business finance focuses more on the macro-economics. Through study, I summarized that business finance is about the general operation and future development planning of business, which put more emphasis on big enterprise or even governments.
