HOW TO MAKE GUN LAWS STRICTER IN AMERICA

Part II

INTRODUCTION

                            Guns are weapons that are very powerful. They can cause harm, death and even destruction. This weapons are powerful both socially and physically and thus very important to pay close attention to where this laws over gun control are headed. The directions of gun control laws not only affect our society and nation but also our future.

Gun control

                           The laws on gun control are to take legal actions to control, restrict and license guns to the citizens. The government role is only to determine which member of the public can own a gun or be permitted to carry a firearm. Thus the government should do checkups on a person’s background for any criminal records, mental state and their contribution to the community that is whether they have an occupation or they are American citizens. The government should therefore make sure any gun owner is responsible for the gun he/she owns (Prentice et al, 2009).

 

Gun Rights and Control

                                This has a long history. Although both sides in the gun debate have claimed to have history on their side, each has presented a favored version of the past. According to the United States Constitution; Bill Of Rights; Amendment 2 (as written on the 15thday of December 1791), “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Many say that “well regulated” means we need to have strong laws in place to prevent people from obtaining guns (Prentice et al, 2009). Tough regulation will mean we are tough on crime.

Arguments

                               Some people say well regulated refers to people being responsible for the laws made to keep all citizens safe from hand gun cases; that is undergoing a gun safety course and taking constant training on  use of gun and gun safety. National Rifel...
