Personal Statement Study Abroad

What do you perceive to be the benefits of studying abroad?

As an International student at KLC, I have already experienced the benefits of studying abroad. This year abroad will be a great way to deepen this experience on personal, academic and professional level.

Studying abroad accelerates the personal development. I always lived with my parents before and studying abroad made me more independent and more confident. I think it is the smallest things of my everyday practices, often things that I could not think about before studying abroad, that now make me realise that I’m maturing. I have learnt many transferable skills, such as managing a budget, taking initiatives, and I am really looking forward to learn new unexpected skills during this year abroad.

It will allow me to discover a different approach to learning and experience a new education system. I have always wanted to study in a university where everything is concentrated on one campus and this year abroad will make this possible.

It will also improve my employability as I will improve my fluency in German and follow courses that are not available at KLC which allow me may discover new hobbies or interests. Making new friends will grow my international network and open new professional perspectives.

I’m really interested in studying at University of California for several academic, professional and personal reasons.

For many years the various campuses of the University of California are ranked among the best universities in the world and their quality of teaching is recognised around the world. This is an undeniable argument for me choosing this university as it would represent a valuable asset for me in the future.
