When people analyze the company they work for or your friends or family members you then notice the time and money that the company has spent on the individuals working for them. My personal opinion on training is that training is money well spent, because a pleasant employee will bring good company revenue. Training is offered to achieve improvements in the knowledge, skills, ability and performance of all the employees who will contribute to maintaining a high performance organization. Training focuses on improving the employee’s performance in their current position.

My current status in the working place is at Kaiser Permanente. The last employer before Kaiser Permanente was, Al’s Discount Furniture. Al’s was a good example for employee development and strategy. This is a family owned furniture company, so this means that they are not very professional. I worked for the company for four and a half years. Working with them I realized that they shared what every company wants, their mission was to sell and make money. All the employees wanted a productive day and selling furniture was our mission. Our vision was to be the best furniture company competing. Every employee wanted to be on the top, so that companies knew our name. Al’s Discount Furniture is a known name. The company doesn’t spend money on advertising since most clientele have either been there before or their friends or family send them.

Since Al’s Discount Furniture was doing every thing right, do they need more? Their ultimate goal is to make money. Money is what moves them every day. The company is so focused on their mission, vision, and goals they forget what makes this success happen. They don’t offer any training.
